How it works

One burned token is one coin

The game reads the session logs your agents already write on your disk, counts the tokens they burn and credits one coin per token. The fight never pays. Stuck on a boss? Ship more work.

An agent session burns tokens, the host turns each token into one coin, the coins level up the Wanderer

The fight

It plays itself. You decide what to buy.

Fourteen heroes

Hire a party

Strikers deal damage, tanks hold the party's health and healers undo a share of the foes' damage. Strikers and tanks each come with all four attacks: slash, arrow, bash and spell. Every hero is stronger per coin than the one before. The rare ones unlock with your lifetime burn: the Druid takes 12.8 billion tokens.

Fourteen hero cards: Wanderer, Archer, Shieldbearer, Cleric, Fire Mage, Rogue, Barbarian, Frost Witch, Necromancer, Paladin, Monk, Templar, Sentinel, Druid

Seventy-two bosses

Eight creatures, nine elements

Every creature comes in every element. The creature brings the attack: dragons breathe fire, golems slam, wraiths swing a scythe. The element brings the palette and the weather: embers on a lava floor, snow, lightning and rain, a summoning ring.

Your tokens stay yours

  • Only the usage numbers are read. Prompts and code are never stored or shown.
  • Your work never leaves your machine. The one request the app makes is the update check on GitHub.
  • Everything sits in ~/.token-heroes, so a reinstall keeps your progress.
  • Only the host adds coins. The window can spend them, never more than you have.

The content is plain data, one entity per file. Add a creature or an element, draw an enemy or teach the host a new agent. You don't need Rust or React to start.
